Pentair's Water Quality System business provides leading edge equipment, accessories and water technology solutions: Swimming pools and aquaculture, Water Purification and Food service. We produce a broad line of products from pumps and filtration equipment to thermal products, automated controls, lights, automatic cleaners, water purification and treatment technology, water features, and more. Applications for our Aquatic Systems products include maintenance, repair and renovation of existing in-field equipment, as well as new installations in North America, Europe, and emerging markets such as China, Latin America and other countries.

Description du poste

Tasks and Activities:

  • Create and implement a sourcing strategy for given commodity(-ies) ensuring synergies are captured with Global Commodity Team,
  • Act as the primary interface for the 'Global Commodity' Managers at a regional level,
  • Evaluate and regularly communicate market updates and trends of the own commodities affecting products costs,
  • Select and evaluate assigned suppliers and monitor their KPI's identifying actions to improve their performance in agreement with SQDE function and building /maintaining strong professional relationships,
  • Approve Purchase Orders according to "Delegation Of Authority" matrix and complete contracts in SAP,
  • Support Procurement Coordinators (order expediting) through the escalation process,
  • Support SQDE function to define and implement a supplier/product qualification program,
  • Evaluate and capture opportunities from Best Cost Countries, especially in the Eastern Europe,
  • Negotiate prices, terms and conditions to achieve targets,
  • Improve cash flow by negotiating lead time reduction or consignment /KB contracts in coordination with MM and procurement teams,
  • Manage supplier's ramp up and phase out when necessary,
  • Work closely with project teams (manufacturing, engineering, new product development & technology) - including suppliers - to coordinate product migrations or start ups as necessary to achieve cost savings and strategic objectives (e.g. qualifying new materials, new production processes, etc.),
  • Follow the complete process of "Total Cost Out and Cost Improvement Process" initiatives to ensure final execution is carried out within the AOP time schedule.

Technical Attributes:

  • Purchasing, Business or Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical and/or Electromechanical) or equivalent experience,
  • 4/5 years experience in similar role, particularly in the areas of supplier selection and qualification and in managing the sourcing function in mid-size business,
  • Particular knowledge of a commodity, i.e.: E&E (PCBA, electrical components, motors),
  • Strong knowledge of Materials Management systems, databases; knowledge of SAP is a major plus,
  • Knowledge of basics statistics and statistical analytics,
  • Prior experience in industrial components a plus (e.g. automotive components; pumps; motors; etc.),
  • Fluency in English, French or Italian an asset.

Conditions et Avantages

A challenging role within a multinational environment.

NOTE: this position will require intense travelling and several weeks stays abroad during the first 6 months, up to 50% (training, understanding the various businesses, meeting suppliers).
It is expected that beyond the first 6 months would still require significant travel (around 25%).
